Abstract
This article investigates the modern Korean Chinese letters in a Japanese style and traces their introduction and settlement in Korean in the aspect of linguistics. Among modern Korean Chinese letters are two thousand three letters which both Korea and Japan use together in the same form. Out of the two thousand three letters, two hundred eighty eight letters originated from Japanese. Their originations can be categorized into four groups: the first group was made of the letters coined before the modern Japanese period; the second, the letters coined in the modern period; the third, the letters shown in the Dutch books; the fourth, the letters coined in the Mayji Restoration Period.
