Abstract
This study analyzes the Israeli Defense Forces' (IDF) offensive operations in the Gaza Strip during the Israel-Hamas conflict, aiming to evaluate the appropriateness of the military strategies and tactics employed to achieve the war's strategic objectives. The research examines the alignment between Israel's strategic objectives and military operational goals, assesses the clarity and prioritization of these objectives, and evaluates the effectiveness of the IDF's campaign plans following Hamas's surprise attack. Findings indicate a lack of coherence between higher-level strategic objectives and operational execution, with unclear priorities leading to confusion in operations. Moreover, the IDF's offensive actions may have inadvertently advanced Hamas's strategic objectives, potentially undermining Israel's mission effectiveness. This study provides valuable analysis and evaluation of the Israeli operations in Gaza. The insights offer important implications for military doctrines and operational art, highlighting lessons pertinent to modern warfare and emphasizing the necessity of coherent strategy and clear objectives in achieving desired end states.
