이 논문은 <추격자>와 <아저씨>라는 범죄스릴러 영화들에서 발견되는 구원자로서의 새로운 아버지의 등장에 주목한다. IMF 이후 한국영화에서 재현되어 왔던 장르적 변화들에 새로운 내러티브라 여겨지기 때문이다. 그 간의 한국영화는 장르적으로 남성 집단 향수영화와 여성 가족 살해 영화를 통해 가족의 붕괴를 그려왔다. 이 글은 그 과정을 아버지, 어머니와 아들과 딸을 순서쌍으로 묶어 영화들을 범주화해 일별해 보았다. 그 중에서 특히 눈에 띠는 범주는 아버지와 딸의 관계였으며 두 가지 하위 내러티브로 변화해 온 것을알 수 있었다. 하나는 어머니 부재의 상황에서 근친상간적인 부녀관계였고 다른 하나는 구원자 아버지와 딸로 이루어진 부녀 관계였다. 특히 구원자 아버지 내러티브는 모성폐기 혹은 모친 살해를 기반으로 남성영웅이 탄생하는 구도를 가지고 있었다. 그리고 그 새로운 가부장적 질서를 회복하는 듯 보이는 아버지는 젊고 강하며 심지어 친부가 아닌 경향이 있었다. 아버지와 딸의 관계는 현재 한국 장르 영화가 발견한 가족적 범주의 전망을 엿보게 한다.
Abstract
This paper explores a new father as a saviour showed in two crime thriller films, The Chaser(2007) and The Man from Nowhere(2010). Indeed, these films represent a different narrative through a new genre since the 1997 Korean economy crisis. For a while, Korean cinema has described male nostalgic archetype for an excessive masculinity and women's killing of family members. The paper illustrates the process of femicide in the family in relation to father, mother, son, and daughter. Especially, the relationship between father and daughter is very interesting and can show two features. One is incest relationship between a biological father and daughter in the absence of mother. The other is a father redeeming his daughter. The narrative about a father as a redeemer depicts the arrival of a new hero by means of killing mother. Then, the father has a new patriarchal order in the family. Generally the films show a tendency that he is young and not biological father. Therefore, the relationship between father and daughter in these films explains the category of family in Korean genre films.
