Abstract
This study aims to analyze the current status of course CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) report writing and proposes a systematic improvement plan. Using narrative statements from course CQI reports spanning 10 semesters from 2020 to 2024, latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic modeling was conducted to derive themes across five areas: course objectives, teaching content and methods, evaluation methods, educational environment and facilities, and student support and academic administration. Recurring themes were converted into checklist-type items, allowing instructors to select relevant items and then provide written improvement plans. In addition, specific themes that appeared only in certain periods or contexts were supplemented through the inclusion of “other” items. The proposed improvement framework not only reduces the reporting burden on instructors but also serves as a basis for enhancing the practical utility of CQI reports. Furthermore, the topic modeling approach can contribute to systematizing a university-level quality management database. Overall, the findings demonstrate that CQI reports can be strengthened through a system that simultaneously captures instructors’ reflections both quantitatively and qualitatively, thereby contributing to the enhancement of educational quality management at the institutional level and streamlining the reporting process.
