비제도적 정치참여가 제도적 정치참여에 미치는 영향: 정치적 효능감과 정치신뢰도를 중심으로

초록

이 연구는 기존의 제도적 정치참여 행태로 강조되었던 투표참여가 최근에 한국사회에 커다란 영향을 미치고 있는 비제도적 정치참여 행태인 촛불집회와 어떠한 영향관계를 가지고 있는지 분석하고자 했다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 비제도적 정치참여가 제도적 정치참여에 미치는 영향관계를 규명하고 이와 더불어 그 동안 논의되어 왔던 투표에 미치는 영향 요인으로서 정치적 효능감과 정치신뢰도를 비제도적 정치참여 요인에 적용하여 비제도적 정치참여에 이들이 미치는 영향도 함께 분석하였다. 분석방법은 이항로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였고 연구 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 촛불집회와 같은 비제도적 정치참여는 투표와 같은 제도적 정치참여에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 비제도적 정치참여에 정치효능감은 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 반면에 정치신뢰도 요인은 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how voting, which has been emphasized as the single most important institutional political participation behavior, is affected by a non-institutional form of political participation. In particular, we focus on whether participation in candlelight vigil, which has had great influence on Korean society and politics in recent years, has positive or negative effects on participation in voting. In addition, we examine the effects of political efficacy and political trust on non-institutional political participation. The analysis method is binary logistic regression analysis. The major findings of this study can be summarized as the following two. First, non-institutional political participation such as candlelight vigil has positive effects on institutional political participation such as voting. Second, political efficacy factors have positive effects on non-institutional political participation, while political trust factors have negative effects.
