공공활동 참여 경험과 일반신뢰가 투표 여부에 미치는 영향: 2012년도 국회의원 선거를 중심으로

초록

본 연구의 목적은 공공활동 참여 경험과 일반신뢰가 투표여부에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 구체적으로 사회참여를 공공활동 참여와 사회토론 참여, 사교모임 참여로, 그리고 신뢰는 특수신뢰, 일반신뢰, 역할신뢰로 구분하였다. 또한 공공활동 참여의 형태에 따라 투표행위에 미치는 영향이 다를 수 있음에 주목하여 각각의 공공활동 참여 형태를 분석모형에 투입하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 KGSS(한국종합사회조사)2012의 자료를 활용하여 이항로짓분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 공공활동 참여 중에서 지역사회발전을 위한 공공활동 참여가 투표여부에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 다른 종류의 공공활동 참여와 토론참여, 사교모임참여는 투표여부에 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 둘째, 신뢰의 유형 중에서는 일반신뢰가 투표여부에 정(+)적인 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 특수신뢰와 역할신뢰는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 투표율을 높이는 방안으로 지역사회발전을 목적으로 하는 자발적 참여활동을 유도하고 유권자의 일반신뢰를 높이기 위해 다양한 대중들이 응집할 수 있는 정책프로그램을 마련해야 할 필요성이 제기한다.

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the influences of experiences of participation in public activities and generalized trust on whether to vote. Specifically, social participation are divided into participation in public activities, participation in social discussion, and participation in social gathering, while trust are classified into particularized trust, general trust, and trust on role. Also, paying attention on the influences on voting acts depending on types of participation in public activities, each form of participation in public activities were inputted on the analysis model. For the study, data KGSS(Korea General Social Survey) 2012 was used and the binominal logistic model was applied for the analysis. As a result of the analysis, first, among participation in public activities, participation in it for local society development, had statistically significant influences on whether to vote. However, other kinds of participation in public activities and discussion, and social meeting were not statistically significant on whether to vote. However, particularized trust and trust for role were not statistically significant. Therefore, for the conclusion of the study, in order to raise vote rate to realize representative democracy, it is necessary to prepare policy program for inducing voluntary participation with the purpose of local society development for raising generalized trust of voters.
