This study discusses the education of Korean grammatical forms '-던‘ and ’-었던‘ in the case of Japanese Korean learners. The research analyzed the meanings of similar grammatical forms, '-던‘ and '-었던’ for the construction of an educational context. As a result, this study discovered 'completion', 'suspend' and 'discontinuation of image' as the semantic features for distinguishing between '-던‘ and '-었던’. ‘Discontinuation of image' is a semantic feature which effectively explains the meanings of '-던’ and '-었던‘ in cases when these words are hard to distinguish. It is also used to figure out whether or not an image of retrospection is present at the moment of speech. This study also researched and presented the equivalent expressions of '-던‘ and '-었던’ for Japanese Korean learners
Abstract
