The usage of the Korean honorifics differs in television narrations differ with the type of the program. Especially in daily and casual cultural programs, the usage of the narration that changes the speech level strategically is frequent. In these programs, the change in the Korean honorifics to add speed and vivacity to the narration is remarkable. ‘Haeyoche’, ‘haerache’, ‘hasipsiohche’ are mixed, ‘-si-’ is used, suffix is omitted to give fast and lively narration. When using ‘-si-’ the respected subject is revealed as the subject of the action and there is a tendency of avoiding ‘-si-’ when the respected subject is not involved with the situation. Like this, Speech level is not changed when involving important and serious topics. This is a strategy to change the level of honorifics according to the programs.
