가정밖 경계선지능 청소년의 자립지원 프로그램 참여 경험: 고립에서 연결로의 변화 과정
An Study on the Experiences of Adolescents with Borderline Intellectual Functioning in Independent Living Support Program: A Journey from Isolation to Connection

최근 가정밖 보호 청소년의 자립지원에 관한 사회적 관심이 높아지고 있지만, 경계선지능 청소년의 자립은 소극적으로 논의되고있다. 아동복지시설이나 청소년쉼터 등에서 보호되는 청소년 중 경계선지능인이 적지 않다고 예측되지만, 경계선지능 청소년과 그들의자립은 이해되지 못한 학문적 과제로 남아있다. 이에 본 연구는 자립준비 경계선지능 청소년이 자립지원 프로그램을 받는 동안의 경험을살펴보았다. 이들 당사자의 목소리를 통해서 자립지원의 의미와 발전 방안을 이해하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 B 청소년자립지원관에서 자립지원을 받는 경계선지능 청소년 11명을 1년 동안 2번의 면접을 했다. 자료의 분석은 주제분석 방법을사용하였고, 이들의 자립준비의 과정은 사회적 고립에서 연결된 삶이라는 과정으로 이해하고자 했다. 그 결과 3개의 주제와 이를설명하는 5개의 하위범주와 10개의 개념을 도출했다. 최종 도출된 영역은 ‘고립의 시작점: 가정에서 가정밖으로’, ‘고립에서 보호막으로: 자립지원관에 들어오다’, ‘미완의 연결: 열려있는 자립의 길’이었다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해서 본 연구는 자립준비 경계선지능 청소년을위한 자립은 첫째, 자립을 준비할 수 있을 만큼 충분한 시간과 경험을 보장해야 하며, 둘째, 다양한 심리정서적 욕구에 대응할 수있는 전문적 서비스 체계가 마련될 필요를 논의했다. 마지막으로 사회적으로 단절과 고립을 경험한 자립준비 경계선지능 청소년에게도움을 구하고 받을 수 있는 사회적 지지의 경험을 충분히 제공할 필요성을 논의했다. 이 같은 연구 성과는 자립준비 경계선지능청소년의 자립지원 방향성을 정립하는데 기초자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
To date, little attention has been paid to the independent living preparation of adolescents with borderline intellectual functioning(BIF), despite the increasing societal interest in supporting youth in out-of-home care. The purpose of the study is to explore experiences of adolescents with borderline intellectual functioning(BIF) who participated in independent living support program(ILP) from their own perspective. A total of 11 adolescent with BIF participating in ILP at the **Center for Independent Living were interviewed. Thematic analysis was utilized to identify the meaning and process of the ILP. From the interview data, we identified 3 main themes, 5 sub-themes and 10 concepts: (a) the beginning of isolation, (b) isolation to protection, and (c) unfinished yet promising journey. Based on our findings, we suggest that it is important to ensure variety of experiences and more time for adolescents with BIF to develop social networks as resources for independent living. Additionally, We also suggest that a multidisciplinary team is required to provide ILP to meet with special needs of adolescents with BIF.
