영성지향 유아교육의 목적 설정을 위한 연구

본 연구는 영성지향 유아교육과정의 개발을 위한 기초연구로서, 다양한 유아교육 현실상황에서 단위 유아교육기관들이 개발해야 할 교육과정안의 모태적 역할을 할 수 있는 영성지향 교육목표의 원형을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저, 영성의 의미와 영성의 속성을 탐색하였다. 둘째, 영성관련 내용을 다루고 있는 영성교육안의 분석비교를 통하여 영성지향 교육목적 설정의 기초와 영역 및 구체적인 목표를 선정 진술하였다. 본고에서 도출된 결론은 다음과 같다. 먼저, 영성이란 종교나 종파를 초월하는 인간의 본질적이고 고차적인 특성이 구체적 삶의 방식에서 드러나는 것을 의미하며, 이는 개인 내, 개인 간에 통합성과 역동성을 주며, 내적 경험에 대한 민감성을 부여하는 속성이 있다는 것이다. 둘째는 영성지향 교육목적을 생명, 직관, 숭상, 사랑, 평화 등의 5개영역으로 구분하고, 하위항목과 각각 유아에게 적절하다고 생각되는 구체적 교육목표를 진술하였다.

Abstract

What are the educational goals requisite for building a framework for a spirituality oriented early childhood curriculum? To answer this question this study focuses on: 1) exploring the meaning of spirituality, its definitions and characteristics, 2 the spirituality of children and a spiritually oriented early childhood curriculum, and 3) establishing the educational goals of a spirituality oriented early childhood curriculum based on an analysis of related foundational concepts. The findings of this study are two-pronged. The first relates to the meaning embodied in the concept of spirituality. From an educational perspective, the researchers defined spirituality as a meta-religious concept, the nature of human being, the higher  level of consciousness in human being, the spiritual life style of a human being, and so on. Thus, the concept of the spirituality from an educational perspective is characterized by the integration of inter-and intra-individuals, dynamics, mysteriousness, awareness of consciousness and the like. The second prong of the study relates to the establishment of educational goals for a spiritual curriculum. Both general and specific domains for goals were established through a comparative analysis of nine curriculums. The general domains include life, intuition, reverence, love, and peace. Fifteen specific domains for each general domain were established as follows.
