본 연구의 목적은 교사가 놀이영상을 재방문하여 영아의 배움을 새롭게 이해해 보는 데 있다. 영아의 배움을 이해하고 지원하기 위해 이전 영아의 놀이 경험을 재방문 해보는 과정은 교사의 중요한 역할이다. 연구 결과를 정리하면, 영아놀이 기록을 통해 영아의 배움에 대한 교사의 이해변화는 첫째, 자기평가를 하게 되었으며, 둘째, 영아의 시선을 따라가게 되었으며, 셋째, 영아의 목소리를 듣게 되면서 영아의 의도를 존중하는 태도의 중요성을 다시금 깨닫게 되었다. 특히, 본 연구에서 활용된 영아 놀이기록은 영상물이었기에 영아의 행동과 흥미를 보다 생생하게 관찰할 수 있었다. 이러한 변화는 교사에게 ‘놀이기록’이 자신의 고민과 전문성을 돌아볼 수 있는 중요한 도구가 될 수 있었다. 과거의 자료를 통해 영아들의 놀이를 새롭게 이해하고, 교사로서의 역할을 성찰하는 과정은 영아의 배움을 지원하기 위한 새로운 관점을 마련할 기회를 제공할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore how revisiting play videos enables teachers to develop a new understanding of infant-toddler learning. The process of revisiting past play experiences to better understand and support infant-toddler learning represents a critical role for teachers. The findings revealed that teachers’ understanding of infant-toddler learning through play records undergo through significant changes. First, teachers engaged in self-reflection. Second, they followed the childrens’ perspectives. Third, by listening to the voices of the infant-toddlers, teachers gained a renewed awareness of the importance of respecting the children’s intentions. Notably, the play records used in this study were video recordings, which allowed for a more vivid observation of the childrens’ actions and interests. These changes highlight that the play records can serve as a crucial tool for teachers to reflect on their own concerns and professional growth. The process of reinterpreting infant- toddlers’ play through past records and reflecting on their role as educators, is expected to offer opportunities to develop new perspectives for supporting infant- toddler learning.
