북미 지역의 성인 음악학습 사례 분석을 통한 한국의 성인을 위한 평생 음악학습의 시사점 도출

본 연구는 북미지역의 성인을 대상으로 한 평생 음악교육 사례를 분석하여 체계적이고 지 속적인 성인을 위한 평생 음악교육의 시사점을 도출하기 위함이다. 급격한 사회 변화로 인해 새로운 지식과 기술 습득이 요구되고, 삶의 질을 높이는 예술문화에 대한 관심이 증대하면서 평생교육으로서의 음악교육이 점점 중요해지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 성인을 위한 음악 활동 을 제공하고 있는 미국과 캐나다의 음악 단체 또는 프로그램의 설립목적, 대상 및 운영형태, 프로그램 내용을 분석하고, 이들이 제공하는 프로그램 또는 활동을 평생교육 원리의 측면에 서 살펴보았다. 분석을 통해, 한국에서 성인을 대상으로 한 음악활동이 안정적으로 지속적으 로 이루어지기 위해서는 우선 음악가, 음악 교사의 관심과 적극적인 관심과 실천이 우선시 되어야한다. 또한, 평생교육의 4가지 원리가 고루 반영되고, 학습자 특성을 고려한 다양한 음 악 영역, 학습 형태, 콘텐츠가 개발되어야 하고, 음악을 연주하고 만들어가는 과정 중심의 학 습 환경이 조성되어야 한다. 또한, 개인적인 만족과 목적을 위해 참여하는 음악 활동이지만, 그 활동이 지역사회에 이바지할 기회로 연결되어야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze lifelong music education cases targeting adults in the North American region, in order to derive systematic and sustainable implications for lifelong music education for adults in Korea. With rapid societal changes demanding acquisition of new knowledge and skills, and an increasing interest in arts and culture for enhancing quality of life, lifelong music education is becoming increasingly important. In this study, the establishment purposes, target demographics, operational forms, and content of music organizations or programs providing music activities for adults in the United States and Canada were analyzed. Through analysis, it is evident that for music activities targeting adults in Korea to be stably and continually conducted, the foremost priority should be the active engagement and proactive involvement of musicians and music educators. Additionally, the four principles of lifelong education should be equally reflected, and a diverse range of music domains, learning formats, and contents tailored to learner characteristics should be developed. Furthermore, a learning environment centered around the process of playing and creating music must be established. Moreover, while participation in music activities is for personal satisfaction and goals, there should be opportunities for these activities to contribute to the local community.
