This study was conducted to verify the validity of the emotional expressivity scale for dancers by verifying the suitability of the emotional expressivity scale for dance. After setting dancers nationwide as the population, a nomadic sampling method was used to collect 474 sets of data from dancers living in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Seongnam, Daejeon, Daegu, and Gwangju, and the data were used for the study. Using Jamovi 2.3.28 and Winstep 5.2.1.0, we conducted a one-dimensionality test. We analyzed the response category appropriateness, item fit, and difficulty, and derived the following results. First, the response categories of the dance emotional expression scale were found to be more appropriate with a 3-point response category than a 6-point response category. Second, the results of evaluating the fit of the items of the dance emotional expression scale showed that 6 items were not appropriate as items of the dance emotional expression scale. Third, the difficulty of the items of the dance emotional expression scale was found to be very biased. Based on these results, in order to secure the validity and reliability of the dance emotional expressivity scale, the scale should be reconstructed based on item response theory.
