본 연구는 베트남인 학습자를 대상으로 인사 화행의 전략 사용 양상을 살펴보고자 하였다. 인사 화행은 크게 만남과 헤어짐의 상황으로 나뉘며, 상황의 격식성, 사회적 거리, 사회적 지위의 영향을 받으므로 본 연구에서는 이에 따른 베트남인 학습자의 전략 사용 양상을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 인사 화행 설문지를 개발하여 베트남인 학습자 37명, 한국인 37명을 대상으로 인사 화행의 전략 사용 양상을 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 상황에 따라 베트남인 학습자와 한국인이 어떤 전략을 선택하는지를 잘 보여줄 수 있는 다중응답분석을 사용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 만남의 상황에서는 사회적 거리가 먼 경우는 두 집단 간에 차이가 거의 나타나지 않았으나 사회적 거리가 가까운 경우 차이를 보였다. 헤어짐의 상황에서 비교적 두 집단 간에 차이가 크게 나타났는데 격식적 상황에서 전략 사용이 달랐고, 특히 상대방의 사회적 지위가 높을 때 사용되는 전략이 달랐다. 이상과 같은 본 연구는 그 중요성에 비해 그동안 주목받지 못했던 인사 화행의 전략 사용 양상을 한국인과 비교해 살펴보았다는 데 의미가 있다. 또한 이 결과는 한국어 교육 현장에 제공할 수 있는 기초 자료라는 점에서도 의의가 있겠다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the patterns of using the strategies of greetings among Vietnamese Korean learners, with a focus on situations of greeting and leave-taking. The strategies of greetings are categorized into these two situations and influenced by the formality of the situation, social distance, and social status. Therefore, this study seeks to examine how Vietnamese learners utilize the greetings strategies in accordance with these factors. To accomplish this, a questionnaire was created to examine the patterns of strategy use in greetings and leave-taking among 37 Vietnamese learners and 37 Koreans, and the data collected was analyzed using the questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed using a multiple response analysis, which is an effective method for demonstrating the strategies selected by Vietnamese learners and Koreans depending on the situation. As a result, regarding greeting situations, there was nearly no discernible difference between the two groups in terms of social distance when it was large; however, a difference was observed when social distance was close. In situations of leave-taking, a relatively large difference was observed between the two groups, with differences in strategy use in formal situations and particularly in strategies used when the interlocutor had a high social status. Despite its importance, the patterns of using strategies in greeting and leave-taking have not received much attention until now. This study, which compares the patterns of strategy use between Koreans and Vietnamese learners, provides valuable insights. Furthermore, the results can serve as basic data for Korean language education.
