본 논문은 Merleau-Ponty 살의 존재론을 토대로 존재론적 성격의 생명윤리교육을 새롭게 구성하는 기초연구로서의 성격을 가진다. Merleau-Ponty 살의 존재론 자체가 생명윤리를 위한 유의미한 함의를 가지는 것이 사실이지만, 살의 존재론이 삶의 보편적 지평 위에서 형상화한 자유의 현상학은 생명윤리의 실천을 위한 보다 절실한 동기를 제공해 준다. Merleau-Ponty 살의 존재론은 살의 은유가 위탁한 상호얽힘(키아즘)의 역동적 관계구조를 통해 존재양태의 보편적이며 근원적인 존재론적 애매성이 인간 삶과 존재 및 세계와 의미의 구성에 얼마나 깊숙이 관여하고 있는지를 보여준다. 이 존재론적 애매성은 존재성의 심연에 맞닿아 있는 유/무, 정신/육체, 가시성/비가시성의 대립항들의 상호침투가 ‘생명과 죽음’ 사이에서 발생하는 위탁과 반송의 상호의존성으로 그대로 반복되며 존재론적으로 생명의 개념을 새롭게 재정의하고 있음을 주목하게 한다. 이러한 존재론적 맥락에서, 자유의 현상학 주제들은 죽음의 한계를 초월하여 무한과 생명의 완전성으로 접근하려는 인간의 권력의지에 어떠한 성격을 부여하고 또한 어떠한 변화를 의도적으로 모색할지 고민하게 만든다. 이는 또한, 생명윤리에 대한 교육적 지향성을 가늠하는 Merleau-Ponty 자유의 현상학에 대한 성격규정이기도 하다.
Abstract
This study has a meaning as a basic investigation for a new construction of the bioethics education which is based on the ontological idea, especially the 'flesh ontology' of Merleau-Ponty. It is true that the 'flesh ontology' of Merleau-Ponty itself has significant implications for bioethics education, but the phenomenology of freedom that is formed by a general 'flesh ontology' provides more earnest motivation for the educational practice of the bioethics education. The 'flesh ontology' of Merleau-Ponty shows that a fundamental and ontological ambiguity of the being style is involved in the human life, human being and the construction of meaning and world profoundly through the dynamic relational structure of Chiasme. This ontological ambiguity makes us notice that the mutual saturation between the oppositions just like being and nothing, spirit and flesh, visibility and invisibility in the ontological profound is repeated in the mutual dependence between life and death and is redefining the conception of the life ontologically and newly. In the ontological context, the themes related with the phenomenology of freedom let us consider what the power and will of human being approaches the infinity and the perfection of life after transcending the limitation of death. This is also a kind of description about the phenomenology of freedom in Merleau-Ponty for aiming the educational intentionality to the bioethics education.
