학교폭력, 집단따돌림과 괴롭힘, 청소년의 자살, 물질만능주의, 성적 지상주의 등 이 모든 것들은 아이들의 삶에 있어서 도덕적 측면을 무시해왔기 때문에 생겨난 문제들이다. 도덕적으로 유해한 세상에서 아이들이 삶에 의미를 찾고 윤리적 태도를 갖도록 할 수 있는 것은 바로 도덕의 힘이다. 아이들에게 도덕적 힘 혹은 도덕성을 길러주는 것은 곧 도덕지능(moral intelligence)을 강화하는 것이다. 도덕지능은 옳고 그름을 판단하고, 바른 판단에 근거하여 올바르게 행동할 수 있는 인격적 특성이다. 도덕성을 기른다는 것은 곧 도덕지능을 높이는 것으로 도덕지능은 정해진 규범이나 규칙을 기계적으로 준수하는 것이 아니라 자신의 삶을 자신이 살아가면서 바르게 판단하고 느끼며 행동으로 옮기는 능력을 말한다. 본 연구는 초등학생들이 도덕적 삶을 살아가는데 핵심적 역할을 할 수 있는 도덕지능을 증진 시킬 수 있는 구조화되고 체계적인 프로그램을 개발하는 것이 목적이다.초등학생용 도덕지능 증진 프로그램(a moral intelligence promotion program for elementary school students: MIPP)의 개발 모형과 절차는 프로그램 개발 피드백모형(최윤정, 2009)에 따라 조직, 구성, 개발하였다. 프로그램 개발 피드백모형은 10단계의 하위 절차로 구성되어 있으며, 개발된 프로그램의 효과 검증을 위하여 측정시기별(사전/사후) 반복표본측정 설계에 따라 프로그램 효과를 검증하였다. MIPP 효과 검증을 위하여 49문항으로 구성된 초등학생용 도덕지능 검사(MIT-ESC: 정종진, 2009)를 활용하였고, MIT-ESC 검사의 하위요인 신뢰도 계수는 .74～.87이다. 연구 결과, 본 연구에서 개발한 초등학생용 도덕지능 증진 프로그램은 타당하게 구성되었고, 그 효과가 경험적으로 신뢰성 있게 검증되었다. 본 연구에서 수집된 자료에 대한 분석은 SPSS 18.0 통계패키지 프로그램을 활용하였다.
Abstract
The present study attempted to develop a Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students(MIPP). The study investigated the following research questions:1. Could will the Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students be constructed properly?2. Could the validity of the Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students be verified empirically?2-1. Does the Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students effectively increase the scores of care in the treatment group ?2-2. Does the Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students effectively increase the scores of subfactors in the treatment group ?The Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students was developed based on the program development model previously designed in this study. The Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students was made up of 10 sessions: 40 minutes per session. 31 students volunteered to participate in the program. The students of treatment group received a Moral Intelligence Promotion Program. The final data were collected from 31 students in treatment group. The program used for data analysis was SPSS 18.0 for Windows and the significance level for hypothesis testing was set at .05. The results were as follows: First, treatment group showed significantly higher scores on the levels of Moral Intelligence. Second, treatment group showed significantly higher scores in 7 subfactors such as empathy, conscience, self-control, respect, kindness, tolerance, fairness factors on the degrees of Moral Intelligence. In conclusion, it was shown that the Moral Intelligence Promotion Program for elementary school students was developed properly.
