Frege’s sense and reference distinction has not been applied to our ordinary language so far, although his original purpose of the distinction is for the scientific method using ideal language. But what if we apply the distinction to the ordinary language, especially some ordinary names? This paper aims to explore and answer the question. After the exploration, my answer is that it is possible that some ordinary names can be made the distinction between sense and reference, even though it seems that one of them remains for us another question to be addressed.
Abstract
Frege’s sense and reference distinction has not been applied to our ordinary language so far, although his original purpose of the distinction is for the scientific method using ideal language.
