사관학교 입학전형요소와 학업성취도의 연관성 분석

대학에서의 입학시험이란 대학에 입학한 후 각 대학의 교과과정을 성공적으로 수행할 수 있는 자질을 갖춘 학생을 선발하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 또한 각 대학들은 대학의 교육 목표에 부합하는 우수한 인재를 선발하기 위해 지속적으로 선발제도에 대한 계량적인 연구들을 실시하고 있으며, 그러한 연구들을 바탕으로 선발제도를 개선해 나가고 있다. 사관학교의 선발시험 또한 일반대학에서의 입학시험과 같은 의미를 가질 뿐만 아니라 우수한 장교 선발이라는 측면에서 군의 선발제도와도 무관하지 않다. 사관학교의 선발시험은 지적영역만을 평가하는 일반대학과는 달리 군의 정예장교를 양성한다는 특수 목적 아래 장교가 되기 위한 기본 적성과 자질을 평가하기 위한 면접시험과 체력검정을 추가적으로 평가한다는 차이점을 갖는다. 본 연구에서는 사관학교의 입학전형요소와 학업성취도 간의 연관성을 분석함으로써 입학전형요소(대학성적, 수능 또는 고교내신, 영어시험, 간부선발도구, 면접, 체력검정)들의 예측타당도 검정하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구는 사관학교의 입시 제도를 개선하는 데 있어 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 군의 선발제도를 발전시키는 것에 도움이 될 것이라 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of the entrance examination is to select promising and potential students who could understand each curriculum in the university. Therefore, each university focuses on researching and developing the entrance examination system for recruiting talented students. Likewise, the entrance examination of Korea military Academy is not only important, but also more significant in terms of selecting potential officers for the future. Furthermore, the selection system adds to an interview and physical strength test in order to evaluate the volunteer’s character and aptitude. It is clear that the unique system closely correlates with prominent officer for the future. In this regard, this study analyzes the correlation between the academic achievement of cadets and the entrance policy factors that could verify predictive reliability for admission factors such as former grade point average, high school’s academic achievements, aptitude test battery for cadets, English test, interview and physical strength test. Finally, it provides the significant implications in terms of useful tools for the entrance policy in Korea military Academy.
