The purpose of this study is to provide the pass/fail classification model for the entrance examination in Korea Military Academy (KMA) and to identify the relative importance of each component in the entrance examination, such as Physical Test (PT), Personal Interview (PI), High School Grades (HSG), and College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). The linear discriminant analysis (LDA) was used to estimate a binary classification model which assigns one of two classes (pass and fail) to an exam applicant. The classification accuracy of the estimated model from LDA was 94.4% for liberal arts and 97.5% for natural sciences. This study showed that CSAT was the most influential factor for passing the entrance examination.
