신문보도를 통해 살펴본 국내 Femicide 사건의 특성

이 연구는 ‘여성살해’를 의미하는 femicide 범죄의 정의와 선행연구를 정리하고 신문보도의 내용분석을 통하여 국내 femicide 사건의 유형과 특성을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 2014년부터 2016년 간 4개의 종합일간지를 대상으로 카인즈의 지면검색서비스를 이용하여 238건의 femicide 사건 관련 신문기사 자료를 수집하고 내용분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 2014-2016년간 국내 4개의 신문사에는 총 238건의 여성을 대상으로 하는 살해사건이 보도된 것으로 확인되었다. femicide 유형 중 가장 많은 것으로 나타난 관계는 배우자 및 가족으로 전체의 42%(100건)을 차지하는 등 가해자는 대부분 친밀한 관계인 것으로 나타났다. 가해자의 범행 계획성이 있는 경우는 38.2%(91건)이며 살해행위 이전에 가해자의 스토킹이 있었던 경우는 6.7%(16건)인 것으로 보도되었다. 살해사건 전의 피해자의 촉발 및 상호작용 행위가 있었던 것은 53.4%(127건)으로 나타났으며 피해자의 외도 및 집착 등에 대한 언급도 4.6%(11건)로 확인되었다. 상황적 요인에 대한 분석결과, 피해자의 구조요청행위는 전체 사건에서 5%(12건)에 불과하였으며 가해자와 피해자간 살인사건 이전에 폭력사건의 발생은 9.7% (23건) 인 것으로 나타나고 있다. 또한 범행계획성, 상호작용행위, 주변인 피해는 가해자-피해자 유형 간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다.
Abstract
The term femicide itself is still unknown in our society, but it is clear that crimes in the category of intimate femicide, such as domestic violence, stalking, and dating violence, are common in our society. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types and characteristics of femicide crime by analyzing the theoretical discussions of femicide crime. The main results of this study are as follows. During the period from 2014 to 2016, four domestic newspapers reported that a total of 238 cases involving femicide crime. The relationship between the victim and the perpetrator was found to be the highest in 42% (100 cases) of the spouse and family. Among reports, 13% (31 cases) reported offender’s drug and alcohol use and 12.2% (29 cases) mentions mental health problems, and 2.5% (6 cases) reported physical health problems. And 6.7% (16 cases) reported that there was offender’s stalking activity. In 53.4% (127 cases) of the entire report, it was reported that the victim's triggering act or the victim's interaction with the offender caused the murder. It was confirmed that the reports on the affair of the victim and the obsession with the perpetrator were 4.6% (11 cases) of the total. As a result of analyzing the situation factors, 5% (12 cases) mentioned the victim's request for rescue, which means informing police or acquaintance about the victim's violence. It is reported that 9.7% (23 cases) reported that there was a violent incident before the murder case between the perpetrator and the victim. About 8.4percent (20 cases) reported femicide related to social problems rather than personal injury.
