Abstract

Entering the 21st century, the international community is accelerating its entry into a supranational society. In addition, the emergence of a new paradigm called the 4th industrial revolution is bringing about countless changes not only in the advancement of science and technology, but also in the security environment. It is an undeniable fact that these changes affect all areas of human life, and the development of science and technology, transportation and communication is breaking down the boundaries of temporal and spatial domains even in the security environment. In particular, the fact that the number of transnational crimes based overseas such as phone financial fraud, illegal online gambling, digital sex crimes, and ransomware attacks is increasing every year can be fully recognized. The purpose of this study is to promote a basic understanding of the types, legal basis, and procedures of international cooperative investigations that are inevitably carried out in order to solve the ever-increasing number of international crimes, and to suggest ways to strengthen international cooperative investigations centered on Interpol. do. Currently, the level of awareness of not only international cooperation through Interpol, but also of the international cooperation investigation itself remains at a low level overall. Therefore, this study specifically aims to advance the understanding of international cooperation and to examine the effectiveness of international cooperation through diplomatic channels. In addition, in order to supplement the problem of effectiveness, we would like to suggest a plan to strengthen the international cooperation investigation through Interpol.
