Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a Number Sense Teaching Program based on CRA Model for five years old children. Method: We analyzed previous studies, kindergarten and elementary mathematics curriculums and a Number Sense Test. Then we developed a Number Sense Teaching Program based on CRA Model. Results: We developed a Number Sense Teaching Program based on CRA Model that consists of 6 themes and 19 sessions based on 13 number sense factors. Each session is made of introduction(5 min), main lesson(20 min), wrap up(5 min) and main lesson consists of C(Concrete)-R(Representational)-A(Abstract) stage. And each session was designed to practice the fundamental concepts through teacher modeling-guided practice-independent practice. Conclusion: The Number Sense Teaching Program based on CRA Model will be effective in improvement of number sense and motivation for children with different cognitive levels.
