코메니우스의 『세계도회』(Orbis Pictus) 구조를 통해 본 교육적 의미 연구

본 논문의 목적은 코메니우스의 『세계도회』 구조를 분석하고 그것을 토대로 하여 교육적 의미를 살피는 것이다. 『세계도회』의 구조는 공시적 구조와 통시적 구조로 구분하여 분석할 수 있다. 공시적 구조는 ‘입문’과 ‘맺음말’의 그림을 통해 분석이 가능하다. 이 구조 안에 코메니우스의 판소피아 사상이 함축되어 있다. 통시적 구조는 다음과 같이 4가지로 정리할 수 있다. 1) ‘창세기 2:19-20, 독자에게 드리는 글, 입문, 알파벳 배우기’(A)와 ‘맺음말’(A’), 2) ‘하나님’(B)과 ‘하나님의 통치’(B’), 3) ‘세계’(C)-‘인간’(X)-‘종교’(C’), 4) ‘자연’(D)과 ‘문화’(D’)가 그것이다. 이런 구조는 다음과 같은 교육적 의미를 나타낸다. 1) A-A’는 함축적인 교육론을 내포하고 있다. 2) B-B’는 형이상학적 토대와 방향성을 보여준다. 3) A-B, B’-A’은 현실적이며, 궁극적인 교육목적을 보여준다. 4) C-X-C’는 연결고리와 함께 이어지는 교육내용의 전체성을 의미한다. 5) D-D’는 그림 및 감각을 통한 교육방법을 보여준다. 이런 『세계도회』의 구조는 오늘날 교육에 시의적절한 교훈을 준다.
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the structure of Comenius' Orbis Pictus and to examine its educational meanings. The structure of Orbis Pictus can be analyzed by dividing it into a synchronic structure and a diachronic structure. The synchronic structure can be analyzed through pictures of 'Invitation' and 'The Close'. In this structure, Comenius' idea of Pansophia is implied. The diachronic structure can be organized into the following four types. 1) 'Genesis 2:19-20, Writing to Readers, Invitation, Learning the Alphabet'(A) and 'The Close'(A'), 2) 'God'(B) and 'God's Rule'(B'), 3) 'World'(C)-'human'(X)-'religion'(C'), 4) 'nature'(D) and 'culture'(D'). This structure represents the following educational meaning. 1) A-A’ implies an implicit educational theory. 2) B-B’ implies the ultimate educational purpose. 3) A-B, B'-A' shows the realistic and ultimate educational purpose. 4) C-X-C’ means the wholeness of the educational content that is connected with the link. 5) D-D’ shows education methods through pictures and senses. This structure of Orbis Pictus gives timely lessons to education today.
