본 연구의 목적은 코메니우스의 세계관과 사상을 개혁주의세계관의 관점으로 평가해보는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해, 먼저 코메니우스의 세계관형성의 배경이 되는 17세기의 시대적배경과 학문적, 신앙적 배경을 검토하였고, 그리고 코메니우스의 세계관과 그중의 자연관, 인간관, 사회관을 개혁주의 세계관의 관점으로 평가하였다. 코메니우스의 세계관은 개혁주의 세계관의 특성인 창조, 타락, 구속의 관점을 잘 드러내고 있다. 창조세계의 질서와 법칙성에 대한 확신, 그리고 성경의 기능과 권위에 대한 그의 주장들도 개혁주의 세계관과 맥을 같이하고 있다. 코메니우스의 자연관은 하나님과 성경과 그리스도중심의 우주적 회복과 통일성에 있어서 개혁주의 세계관의 기초에 서 있다고 할 수 있으나 그의 자연과 인간의 이성에 대한 낙관적 견해는 근대적 세계관의 영향을 반영하고 있다고 할 수 있다. 코메니우스의 인간론은 하나님의 형상으로 지음 받은, 창조, 타락, 구속사건의 흐름 가운데서 종교적인 존재, 관계적 존재, 통전적인 존재로 이해된다. 코메니우스는 그의 교육론인 범지학과 평화의 사도로 이 땅에 오신 예수 그리스도를 통하여 세상과 사회가 개혁되어 하나님나라가 이루어지도록 노력한 사회개혁사상가였다. 그러므로 코메니우스는 성경적 세계관에 기초한 자연사상과 인간교육의 가능성을 통하여 사회를 복음의 빛으로 변혁하려 하였던 교육신학자라고 평가할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate Johann Amos Comenius’ worldview by viewing it through the lens of the Reformed tradition. For this, this paper will examine the historical, academic and theological background of the 17th century, especially as it pertains to Comenius’ worldview relating to nature, the humankind, and the society. Comenius’ worldview effectively reveals the unique perspective the Reformed tradition has on creation, the Fall, and redemption. In addition, his conviction that a system and a law co-exist in creation as well as his belief in the ultimate and final authority of the Bible also find their common denominator in the Reformed worldview. While Comenius' view on nature may be said to be the foundation of Reformed theology especially when it comes to God, the Bible, the reconciliation of the world through Christ and unity, his optimistic understanding of nature and the will of human beings is more modern in thought. His view of humanity, in fact, can be understood through the lens of being created in the image of God, experiencing the Fall, and being redeemed, finding the purpose of their existence in religion, relationships, and holism.. Comenius, as a social and educational reformist, tirelessly advocated for the world to be transformed through Jesus Christ, the Son of God who had come to the world as a peacekeeper. In a postmodern world that refuses to acknowledge the existence of absolute truth, Comenius' uncompromising yet biblical view on humanity can be utilized as an educational tool for those parents who wish to raise their children with the word of God.
