Abstract
This study reframes the affective crisis of youth, particularly the experience of exhaustion, within the posthuman condition, where technology, society, and the body are interconnected. It moves beyond pathological interpretations and adopts an educational perspective. Drawing on Rosi Braidotti’s work, the study views the subject as nomadic and generative, continuously transformed through relationships with nonhuman agents, rather than as a fixed and autonomous entity. The “affirmative ethics” practiced by the posthuman subject is based on zoe-centered egalitarianism, which recognizes the dynamic, self-organizing life force present in all forms of life. Instead of remaining in states of sadness, exhaustion, or loss, affirmative ethics aims to use these negative affects as transitions to new modes of existence. From Braidotti’s perspective, the exhaustion experienced by educational subjects is not simply a psychological issue or a sign of failure; rather, it marks the limits of traditional models of subjectivity and signals the possibility for new forms of becoming. This study argues that reconfiguring educational affect is necessary for the positive transformation of exhaustion. It identifies three strategic directions: first, mapping the posthuman condition; second, constructing epistemic systems based on decoloniality and diversity; and third, creating multi-scalar platforms of action that translate affect into practice. These strategies suggest that education should not view human exhaustion only as a problem to solve, but as an affective signal of latent potential, requiring an educational response that opens new possibilities for life and subjectivity.
