미디어 텍스트의 재매개 연구 :만화 <조선여형사 다모>의 재매개 TV드라마와 영화 사례를 중심으로

성공한 콘텐츠를 다른 미디어의 콘텐츠로 재제작하는 미디어 텍스트의 재매개가최근 콘텐츠 공급방식으로 부상하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 미디어와 텍스트의 상호작용성에 초점을 두고 재매개 과정에서 텍스트의 내러티브구조와 사회문화적 의미가변형되는 방식을 추적하였다. 원작만화 <조선여형사 다모>와 이를 재매개한 TV드라마와 영화의 이야기구조를 비교분석했다. 정형화된 인물들의 첨예한 대립구도의 추리서사인 만화에 비해, 폭넓은 수용자층을 목표로 하는 TV드라마와 영화에서는 공통적으로 입체적 인물과 복잡한 관계설정, 로맨스가 강화된 다중 플롯구성, 희극성이 강화되는 경향을 보인다. 다른 한편 TV드라마는 이야기의 확장을 영화는 이야기의 압축이라는 상이한 전개를 보였다. 마지막으로 원작 만화와 달리, TV와 영화에서는 시대적 배경이 약화되고 대중적 취향의 로맨스서사에 집중함으로써 계층의 갈등보다는 가부장제의 여성성이 부각되는 경향을 볼 수 있다.
Abstract
This study investigated the media text remediation, the existing contents transforming into the contents of other medium. The purpose of the study is to analyze by using narrative analysis how the transformation of narrative and meaning in remediated media text is occurred. Chosen texts for the study are the comics ‘Cho-sun female detective Damo(1979)’, the TV Drama ‘Damo(2003)’ and the film ‘Detective: Duelist(2005)’ as these texts are popular enough to cover the public discuss and varied in multimedia. To conduct the analysis, the texts were searched as whole plot, complex plot and story-time in syntagmatic axis, and as a set of characters and in relation to characters in the paradigmatic axis. The result shows that though comics displayed detective narrative composed of stereo typed characters and confronted structure, the narrative of remediated media text in both TV and film were changed into romantic detective narrative including more round characters, complex relationship within characters,strengthened comedy and multiple layered plots. And this change reflects the enlargement of target audience in television and film compared to the comics. By the way, due to the different characteristic of media, TV drama showed the expansion of storyline as against the film showing condensation of storyline. Also particularly, the study showed that remediated media text contains the possibility to transform a text into a universal story with the toning up of popular message and omission of historical background.
