<우리말샘>의 辭典的 機能과 方向性에 대한 硏究 –規範性과 非規範性을 中心으로–

본 연구는 우리말샘과 표준국어대사전을 비교·대조하여 우리말샘이 지닌 규범성과 비규범성을 밝히고 우리말샘의 사전적 기능과 방향성을 고찰하고자 하였다. 우리말샘은 언어생활에서 일어나고 있는 다양한 언어 현상을 반영하는 기술 사전의 성격을 지니고 있다. 이는 사전의 모든 정보에 어문 규정을 적용하여 편찬한 표준국어대사전이 규범 사전의 성격을 지니고 있는 것과는 구분된다. 하지만 기술 사전의 성격을 지닌 우리말샘이 규범 사전으로 인식되어 많은 문제점이 나타나고 있다. 이는 우리말샘과 표준국어대사전 모두 국가 기관에서 편찬하고 제공한다는 점, 우리말샘이 표준국어대사전의 규범적인 표제어를 모두 포함하고 있다는 점, 우리말샘의 표제어는 전문가 감수가 이루어진 후에 등재된다는 점, 우리말샘에서 규범 정보를 제공하고 있다는 점을 들 수 있다. 본 연구는 이와 같이 우리말샘이 지닌 규범성과 비규범성의 구분이 명확하지 않아 생기는 문제점을 지적하였다. 나아가 이를 해결하기 위하여 우리말샘 규범적인 표제어에 별도의 표지를 나타낼 것, 우리말샘의 검색 조건을 세분화할 것, 우리말샘 표제어 전문가 감수 체계를 개선할 것을 제언하였다.
Abstract
This study compared and contrasted the normative and non-normative characteristics of Urimalsam with the standard Korean dictionary to investigate the dictionary function and direction of our malsam. The Urimalsam, serviced by the National Institute of the Korean Language, represents a descriptive dictionary that reflects various linguistic phenomena occurring in language life. This is different from the standard Korean dictionary compiled by applying the linguistic rules to all information in the dictionary, representing a normative dictionary. However, many problems have arisen as the Urimalsam, which is a descriptive dictionary, is recognized as a normative dictionary. There are several reasons for this. Both the Urimalsam and the Standard Korean Dictionary are compiled and provided by national institutions. In addition, Urimalsam contains all normative headwords in the standard Korean dictionary. The headwords of Urimalsam are registered after expert supervision. Lastly, Urimalsam provides normative information. This study identified the problem that arises because the distinction between normative and non-normative in the Urimalsam is not clear. To solve this problem, it was suggested that a separate marker should be displayed for the normative headword of the Urimalsam, the search conditions of the Urimalsam should be subdivided, and the system of expert supervision of the Urimalsam should be improved.
