본 연구는 몽골인 학습자들의 한국어 이중모음 오류를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 몽골인 학습자들은 한국어 이중모음이 입력되면 몽골어 모음 체계의 내적 구조와 음절 구조를 바탕으로 재해석과 조정을 하여 출력한다. 몽골어에 활음 /j/가 존재하므로 몽골인 학습자들의 한국어의 /j/계이중모음 산출에 큰 어려움을 겪지 않는다. 몽골인 학습자들은 한국어/ju/와 /jo/에 대해 오류를 범하는데 이는 단모음의 내적 구조의 해석이영향을 준 오류이다. 주목할 만한 오류들은 한국어의 /w/계 이중모음에서나타난다. 몽골인 학습자들은 한국어의 /wi/를 [we], [i]로 산출하는 오류를 보이고 한국어의 /we/를 [e], [ue], [oe]로 산출하는 오류를 범한다. 그리고 한국어의 /wə/를 [ə], [uə], [ua]로 한국어의 /wa/를 [a], [ua], [oa]로산출하는 오류를 범한다. 이러한 오류들은 활음 탈락, 모음 분리, 모음 재해석으로 분석할 수 있다. 마지막으로 몽골인 학습자들은 한국어의 /ɨj/를[i], [ɨ], [ɨi], [ui]로 산출하는 오류를 범한다. 이는 한국어의 /ɨj/의 구조를바르게 인지하지 못한 것에서 비롯된 것으로 모음 탈락, 모음 분리, 모음재해석의 과정을 통해 산출된 오류로 분석할 수 있다.
Abstract
This paper aims to analyze phonologically the errors made by Mongolian learners in producing Korean diphthongs. When Korean diphthongs input is given, Mongolian learners reanalyze and adjust it based on their internal representation of the Mongolian vowel system and syllable structure, as reflected in their output. As Mongolian has a glide /j/, Mongolian learners do not have much difficulty in producing the /j/ diphthongs of Korean. They show errors in the Korean /j/ diphthongs; /ju/ and /jo/, which reflect the interpretation of the single vowel. Notable errors appear, however, in producing /w/ diphthongs of Korean. Mongolian learners pronounce the Korean diphthong /wi/ as [we] and [i], /we/ as [e], [ue], and [oe], /wə/ as [ə], [uə] and [ua], /wa/ as [a], [ua] and [oa]. These errors can be classified as glide deletion, vowel separation, and vowel reinterpretation, respectively. Finally, they produce [i], [ɨ], [ɨi] and [ui] for Korean /ɨj/, indicating that they do not grasp the structure of Korean /ɨj/ but realize it through vowel deletion, vowel decomposition and vowel reinterpretation.
