Abstract

This paper insisted three things. Firstly, it understood the fact that the culture of Chinese characters worked an cultural common denominator in premodern East Asian society. Secondly, based on the previous aspect, it determined the classics written by Chinse characters as the classics of East Asia. Thirdly, it tried to find the connection between the classics of East Asia and the classical Chinese education. Therefore, the main point of this paper was to establish the direction of the classical Chinese education in the universities and the middle or high schools based on the classics of East Asia. Concretely, it is necessary to have a new understanding the classics of East Asia in premodern time, to include the classics written in Chinese characters into the Chinese characters(classics)’ textbook of the high school in every East Asia, and in order for the university students or the general public to learn Chinese characters, to publish educational books about ‘the classics written in Chinese characters in East Asia’. When connecting the classics of East Asia into the classical Chinese education, it is expected that as the competing mind existing among every countries in East Asia nowadays could be overcame, every countries in East Asia could make a mutual understanding and respect and finally it could go forward the common interests.
