2022 개정 교육과정 ‘언어생활과 한자’ 교과서에 나타난 한자 줄임말과 혼종어 유형 분석 및 교수․학습 방법 탐색

2022 개정 한문과 교육과정의 가장 큰 특징은 고등학교 교육과정에 융합선택 과목인 ‘언어생활과 한자’라는 교과목이 신설된 것이다. ‘언어생활과 한자’ 교과목은 한자 및 한자 어휘 활용 능력을 신장하는 데 초점을 둔 과목이며, ‘한자 줄임말과 혼종어’란 용어는 ‘언어생활과 한자’ 교과목의 성취기준 해설서에 나오는 말로 2022 개정 한문과 교육과정에서 가장 도드라지는 학습 요소 중 하나이다. 본고는 한문과에서 사용하는 한자 줄임말과 혼종어의 개념을 알아보았고, 한자 줄임말과 혼종어가 한문과 교육과정에서 갖는 의미를 탐색하였으며, 언어생활에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 향후 추세를 진단하였다. 또한 한자 줄임말과 혼종어의 성취기준과 관련하여 국어과와 한문과의 교육과정을 훑어보았으며, 2022 개정 한문과 교육과정에 따른 ‘언어생활과 한자’ 7종 교과서에 수록된 한자 줄임말과 혼종어의 유형 분석을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 한자 줄임말과 혼종어의 효과적인 교수·학습 방법을 탐색하였다. 또한 ‘언어생활과 한자’ 7종에 수록된 한자 줄임말과 혼종어 분석 과정에서 한자 줄임말과 혼종어 학습에서 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 도출하여 해결 방안을 모색하였다. 이를 통해 향후 학습자들이 한자 줄임말과 혼종어의 유형을 이해하고 주체적인 언어생활을 영위하며, 한자 학습의 유용성을 인식하여 한문 학습의 흥미가 제고되기를 희망한다.
Abstract
The most distinctive feature of the 2022 revised Chinese Character (Hanmun) curriculum is the introduction of a new elective convergence subject in the high school curriculum titled Chinese Characters in Korean Language Life. This course is designed to enhance students’ ability to utilize Chinese characters and related vocabulary. The phrase "abbreviated Sino-Korean words and hybrid words" appears in the achievement standards commentary of the Chinese Characters in Korean Language Life course and is one of the most prominent learning elements of the 2022 revision. This study first defines the concepts of abbreviated Sino-Korean words and hybrid words as used in the Chinese Characters curriculum, then explores their significance within the educational framework, analyzes their influence on language use, and assesses future trends. The paper also reviews both the Korean language and Chinese Characters curricula in relation to the achievement standards for abbreviated and hybrid words. Furthermore, it analyzes the types of abbreviated Sino-Korean words and hybrid words included in the seven textbooks published under the 2022 revised curriculum for the Chinese Characters in Korean Language Lifecourse. Based on these findings, the study proposes effective teaching and learning strategies. In addition, by examining the abbreviated and hybrid words found across the seven textbooks, this study identifies potential issues that may arise during instruction and proposes solutions. The ultimate aim is to foster learners’ understanding of these word types, promote more autonomous and conscious language use, and help students recognize the practical value of learning Chinese characters, thereby enhancing their interest in the subject.
