2022년 漢文科 교육과정 신설 과목 ‘언어생활과 한자’에 대한 기대와 전망, 그리고 제언

이 글은 2022년 漢文科 교육과정에 새롭게 진입한 ‘언어생활과 한자’ 교육의 가능성을 긍정적 차원에서 발제한 글이다. 먼저, ‘과연 실생활에서 한자 교육의 필요성은 어디에 기인하는가?’에 대해 다양한 문제의식으로 접근해 보았다. 다소 스펙트럼이 넓은 발제일 수도 있으나, ‘언어생활과 한자’가 2022 漢文科 교육과정에 ‘융합’ 선택과목으로 신규 개설된 만큼, ‘한자ㆍ한문 교육’에서의 諸문제를 다뤄보고자 하였다. 그러나 이 글은 실생활에서의 한자 교육이 갖는 의미와 가치를 부각하고자, 효율적이고 효과적인 한자 어휘群 선택과 접근 방안도 함께 제언하였다. 예컨대, 실생활 속에서 만연되고는 있지만, 학생들의 눈높이에 따른 흥미로운 어휘, 문화나 관습적 차이에서 우리의 정체성을 살려볼 만한 어휘, 생각지도 못한 뜻밖의 어원을 갖고 있는 어휘 등, 다양한 프리즘을 제시해 보았다. 끝으로, 기왕에 2022년 개정 교육과정에 따라 2025년부터 ‘언어생활과 한자’ 교과서가 출간되어 ‘융합’ 선택과목으로 출발하는 만큼, 시행착오는 있겠으나 수정ㆍ보완 작업을 거듭하며 발전적 성과가 산출되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This article presents the possibility of ‘Chinese Characters in Korean Language Life’ education, which has newly entered the <2022 Chinese Character Subject Curriculum>, from a positive dimension. First, I approached the question, ‘Where does the necessity of Chinese character education come from in real life?’ with various problem consciousness. It may be a presentation with a rather broad spectrum, but as the ‘Chinese Characters in Korean Language Life’ subject was newly opened as an ‘convergence’ elective in the <2022 Chinese Character Subject Curriculum>, I tried to deal with various difficult problems in ‘Korean-Chinese Character Education’. However, in order to clarify the meaning and value of Chinese character education in real life, this article also suggested a method and approach to select effective and effective Chinese character vocabulary. For example, although it is used a lot in real life, first: interesting vocabulary depending on the learner’s level, second: vocabulary that can utilize our identity in cultural or conventional differences, and third: vocabulary with unexpected and unexpected original meanings were presented. Finally, according to the 2022 revised curriculum, the ‘Chinese Characters in Korean Language Life’ textbook has already been published from 2025 and will start as a ‘convergence’ elective course, so there will be minor trial and error, but we hope that developmental results will be produced through repeated revision and supplementation.
