Reflections on the Identity and Future of French Studies in the AI Era

본 연구는 인공지능(AI) 시대를 맞아 한국 대학 프랑스어문학 전공 교육의 정체성과 미래 발전 방향을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 최근 관련 선행연구를 비판적으로 검토・분석하고, AI 시대에 대학 어문학 전공 교육이 직면한 주요 도전 과제를 도출하였다. 더불어, 프랑스어문학 전공을 사례로 삼아 현재와 AI시대 전공교육에 대한 학습자와 교수자의 인식을 조사함으로써 대학 전공 교육의 실태와 두 주체간의 인식 격차를 진단하고 개선 방안 마련을 위한 시사점을 도출 하였다. 이러한 문헌 연구와 실증조사 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 AI 시대 프랑스어문학 전공 교육이 지향해야 할 정체성과 교육적 가치를 재정립하고, 지속가능한 학문으로서의 발전 가능성을 모색하기 위한 여섯 가지 개선 방향을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the identity and future directions of French Studies in Korean higher education in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). To this end, recent literature has been critically reviewed to identify key challenges facing foreign language and humanities education in the context of AI. Using French Studies as a representative case, the study investigates how students and instructors perceive both the current state and future direction of the major curriculum. This empirical analysis provides a diagnosis of the present conditions of university-level French education and highlights perceptual gaps between the two stakeholder groups. Based on findings from both the literature and empirical data, the study redefines the educational identity and value of French Studies in the age of AI and proposes six strategic directions for its sustainable development as an academic discipline.
