Abstract

This study analyzes how differences in language expression forms called speech tasks and writing tasks are involved in Japanese learners' acquisition of grammar items with similar semantic methods. We can summarize the analysis results as followsFirst, Japanese learners tend to use "Yo-da゙" and "Mitai-da゙" separately depending on the form of language expression. Second, Japanese learners tend to use "Yo-da゙" and "Mitai-da゙" separately according to the parts of speech accessing the preceding and following paragraphs. "Yo-da゙" shows a similar trend of access regardless of the language expression form, but "Mitai-da゙" tends to use the parts of speech that are connected according to the type of task. Third, Japanese learners tend to distinguish and use "Yo-da゙ and Mitai-da゙" according to the attributes of nouns in speech tasks. This trend was particularly strong in the context of the latter termFourth, Japanese learners tend to distinguish between "Yo-da" and "Mitai-da゙" according to their position of use in sentences. In the case of the speech task, "Yo-da゙" tended to be used for the non-predicate parts, "Mitai-da゙" tended to be used for the predicate parts, and in the case of the writing task, both predicate and non-predicate parts tended to use "Yo-da" strongly.
