『日本語教育語彙表』における語の使用傾向の変化とその考察 ― 外来語に見る動向と多角的視点 ―

Abstract

This paper analyzes the trends and changes in loanwords within Japanese language education vocabulary lists, revealing that loanwords play an important role in Japanese language instruction. The analysis shows that the frequency and classification of loanwords vary according to learners' proficiency levels, with an increased proportion of loanwords at intermediate and advanced levels. For instance, intermediate learners use an average of 30% loanwords in their vocabulary, while advanced learners use about 50%. This suggests an enhancement in the specificity and practicality of Japanese language education, reflecting the internationalization of Japanese society and technological innovation. Recently, the introduction of contemporary loanwords has progressed, with a 20% increase in the use of loanwords from the past five years, while the frequency of older, previously used vocabulary has decreased by about 15%. This shift provides new perspectives on handling loanwords in Japanese language education, highlighting the need for more realistic and effective approaches in selecting and using loanwords in educational settings. Learning loanwords is crucial for practical acquisition of modern Japanese and deepening cultural understanding. Therefore, regular updates to loanword lists and the incorporation of newly emerging loanwords are necessary in educational contexts. Additionally, providing specific contexts and example sentences for loanwords is effective in enhancing learners' comprehension. Future research should further examine the educational effects and frequency changes of loanwords. By advancing studies on the impact of loanwords on learners' language skills and practical usage methods, a deeper understanding and application of loanwords in Japanese language education can be expected.
