본 논문은 현행 우리나라 초등 도덕과 교육의 합리성 문제를 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 그동안 도덕교육계에서 제기되었던 합리성 문제와 관련한 논의를 전반적으로 검토하고, 이에 준거하여 현행 우리나라 초등 도덕과 교육과정의 덕목 선정 및 교수-학습 방법과 관련하여 그의 합리성 문제를 고찰한 후, 이를 극복할 수 있는 방안들을 제시한다. 초등 도덕과 교육의 합리성을 제고하기 위해서는 덕목 중심에서 도덕적 역량 중심 접근으로의 전환을 모색한다. 후자의 접근은 현재와 미래 사회의 학생들에게 요구되는 역량들을 선정한다는 점에서 교육과정 내용구성이 보다 객관성을 확보할 수 있다. 또한 학년군별로 도덕적 형성과 도덕적 탐구에 적절한 방법들을 차등적으로 적용함으로써 교수-학습의 합리성을 제고할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to examine the problems of rationality about moral subject education in elementary school. For this, this essay at first considers by and large the discussions about rationality suggested until now in the moral educational world, then reviews whose virtues be selected for moral subject curriculum and how indoctrination problem be avoided at teaching- learning process, and finally seeks for solutions to overcome those problems. This essay proposes the solutions as follows. Firstly, the moral subject education in elementary school needs to be changed over positively from virtues centered approach to moral competencies centered approach. And the latter can give a basis of rational foundations to the constructions of contents of moral subject curriculum. Secondly, the differential application of moral formation and moral inquiry method can enhance the rationality of teaching-learning process in moral education.
