Abstract

This cross-sectional study analyzed factors affecting self-efficacy and perceived usefulness related to SNS in people with visual and hearing/language impairments. 79 subjects with visual impairment and 117 subjects with hearing/speech impairments of 4th Disability and Life Dynamic Panel were included in this study. Multiple linear regression was used to identify factors affecting SNS self-efficacy and SNS perceived usefulness. As the impairment acceptance score increased(p<.012) and no-depression(p<.001), SNS self-efficacy was significantly increased. Factors affecting SNS perceived usefulness were cause of disability(p<.043), depression(p<.001), self-esteem(p=.016), and family health(p=.014). In the case of acquired impairment and depression, the perceived usefulness was decreased. As self-esteem and family health increased, SNS perceived usefulness increased. SNS self-efficacy increased in the case of congenital impairment, in the absence of depression, and as self-esteem and family health increased. It is necessary to develop and apply various programs to improve the use of SNS by people with impairments.
