초록
The purpose of this research is to explore model and indicators of competitiveness for evaluating convention destinations. Based on previous literature review and expert interviews(FGI), conceptual model has been developed. The conceptual model includes five components('Infra Environment', 'Demand Stimulation', 'Convention Quality', 'Tourism Quality', 'Performance Sustainability') and fourteen attribute. It is identified from the first FGI that this conceptual model comprises more that 369 competitiveness indicators measuring the convention destinations. At the second FGI, 176 competitiveness indicators which are quantitative or qualitative have been identified. Through the expert survey, 143 competitiveness have finally been developed. These indicators are related to the effectiveness of policy, marketing and management, etc. This study is worthwhile developing the conceptual model and indicators representing the level of competitiveness in a certain convention destination, while this study is an exploratory approached. It is believed that the study will be fundamental to developing the competitiveness model and indicators to be generalized and transferred, In order to overcome limitations of the study, it is suggested that the future study investigate the reliability and validity of indicators through both exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Moreover, the future study should identified the relative weights of each indicators, through the Analytical Hierarchical Process(AHP).
