Abstract
The purpose of this study was to focus on how the compromise between the two leading parties in the National Assembly affects the public's perception of COVID-19 prevention policies. More specifically, I examined how the public evaluation of such policies becomes increasingly positive with the perception of bipartisan interaction. Empirical analysis shows that citizens’ positive perception of bipartisan compromise is likely to improve their perspective on various aspects related to COVID-19 prevention policies. The government's positions on particular policies naturally imply partisan orientations. Thus, the public inevitably evaluates a given policy or law based on their partisan preferences. Nevertheless, the positive perception of bipartisanship invalidates partisan differences regarding COVID-19 prevention policies. The results of this study imply that bipartisan compromise in the National Assembly should be a prerequisite for the successful implementation of policies requiring mass support and compliance.
