학위논문 <선행연구>의 내용 구조 분석 연구-중국인 대학원생과 한국어 모어화자의 비교를 중심으로-

본 연구는 중국인 대학원 유학생이 작성한 석사학위논문의 구조적 특징을 밝히는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이는 체계적이고 실용적인 학위논문 쓰기 교육 내용을 마련하는 데 시사점을 제공할 수 있기 때문이다. 이를 위해서 선행연구를 바탕으로 분석기준을 재설정하여 중국인 대학원 유학생이 작성한 석사학위논문 30편과 한국어 모어화자가 작성한 석사학위논문 30편을 글의 수준에 따라 분석하였다. 그 결과 한국이 상위집단은 하위집단보다 수사적 구조가 더 복잡한 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 글의 수준에 따른 차이로 볼 수 있다. 그리고 한국인 집단과 중국인 집단도 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 차이가 발생하는 이유는 중국인 대학원생의 논문 쓰기 학습 경험 부족과 모국어의 영향에서 비롯된다고 해석하였다. 끝으로 중국인 학습자의 특성에 따른 학위논문 쓰기 교육 시사점을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigates the structural characteristics of a Master’s thesis written by Chinese graduate students based on genre analysis to find out how it differs from the same section written by Korean students. The literature review section in 30 Master’s thesis written by Chinese graduate students and 30 Master’s thesis written by Koreans were examined according to the level of writing. Based on the results suggest that the higher-level native speakers were found to used more rhetorical structure and complicated structures compared to the those of the lower-level. Moreover, Chinese learners experience difficulty in writing literature reviews and use a more simple sentence structures when compared to Koreans. The Chinese graduate students also faced issues in summarizing or evaluating previous studies and assessing their significance or the critical points causing more difficulties for in this particular genre. Most students failed to prove the significance and current direction of their research logically. The Chinese graduate students’ lack of practice in thesis writing and the influence of the Chinese language can be seen as the main reasons for the abovementioned issues.
