한중 학위논문 서론에 나타난 메타담화 대조 연구

본 연구는 한국어와 중국어를 모어로 하는 연구자들이 논문 서론에서 메타담화를 사용하는 언어 간 차이를 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 언어 간의 대조 연구는 기초적이지만, 이러한 연구가 선행되어야만 특정 언어 사용자들을 위한 교육 및 교육 방법론에 관한 응용 연구가 발전할 수 있다. 이러한 배경 하에, 본 연구는 수집한 분석 자료를 토대로 두 집단의 메타담화 표지 사용 양상을 살펴보았다. 분석은 두 가지 방법으로 수행되었다. 첫째, 개별 서론 텍스트에 대한 선형 분석과 둘째, 수사 구조에 따른 분석이다. 연구 결과로는 한국어 모어 화자와 중국어 모어 화자 사이에 논문을 작성할 때 메타담화 사용에 현저한 차이가 있음을 확인됐다. 전체적인 분석에서 한국어 모어 화자는 거의 모든 메타담화 유형을 더 많이 사용하며, 부스터 표지만이 중국어 모어 화자에 비해 적게 사용되는 유형이다. 또한, 이동마디에 따른 분석에서는 이동마디 2와 이동 마디 3에서 중국어 모어 화자와 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 대체적으로 한국어 모어 화자는 틀 표지, 참고 표지, 헤지 표지 등을 더 많이 사용하는 반면, 중국어 모어 화자는 재설명 표지, 부스터 표지, 필자 언급 표지를 더 많이 사용한다는 결론이다.
Abstract
TThis study aims to analyze the cross-linguistic differences in how native Korean and Chinese researchers use metadiscourse in the introduction of their papers. While cross-linguistic contrastive research is fundamental, it is only through such studies that applied research on instruction and teaching methodologies for speakers of specific languages can be developed. Against this background, the present study examines the use of metadiscourse markers by two groups of speakers based on collected data. The analysis was conducted in two ways: first, a linear analysis of individual introductory texts, and second, an analysis according to rhetorical structure. The results show a significant difference in the use of metadiscourse in thesis writing between native Korean and Chinese speakers. In the linear analysis, Korean speakers used almost all types of metadiscourse more frequently than Chinese speakers, with booster signs being the only type used less frequently. Additionally, when analyzed by movement, Korean speakers clearly differed from Chinese speakers in Movements 2 and 3. Overall, it can be concluded that Korean speakers used more frame markers, endophoric markers, and hedges, while Chinese speakers used more code glosses, boosters, and self-mentions.
