김수영 시의 연속성 연구 - 「VOGUE야」･「사랑의 變奏曲」을 중심으로 -

이 연구는 4.19 이후 김수영의 인식이 변화된 모습에 관심을 갖고, 그의 변화된 인식이 작품 「VOGUE야」와 「사랑의 변주곡」으로 이어지는 양상 논증을 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해서 김수영의 시 「풀」과 「풀」 바로 직전 발표된 시 「VOGUE야」와 「사랑의 변주곡」에 관심을 갖고, 내재 분석의 방법으로 접근하였다. 그의 시 「VOGUE야」와 「사랑의 변주곡」에 집중한 이유는, 첫 번째는 김수영의 시 「풀」이 그의 시 작품 전체에서 차지하는 위상과 관련이 있다. 이는 시 「풀」에 대한 공과에서 비롯된다. 두 번째는 김수영의 시작 태도가 고조되는 한 부분에 주목하려는 의도와 연관이 있다. 시 「VOGUE야」와 「사랑의 변주곡」이 김수영의 시 전체를 관류할 수는 없겠지만 적어도 「풀」로 이행하기 위한 가교 역할, 다시 말하면 김수영의 인식이 전환되는 측면을 살피는데 용이하다는 판단 때문이다. ‘관계’의 측면에 집중해서 김수영의 인식이 변모하는 모습을 밝히고자 한 이 연구는, 4.19이후 김수영의 인식이 변화된 모습에 관심을 갖고, 그의 변화된 인식이 작품 「VOGUE야」와 「사랑의 변주곡」으로 이어지는 양상을 논증하고자 하였다. 이러한 논증을 통해서 이 글은 ‘나’와 ‘아들’의 관계가 ‘이상’과 ‘현실’의 거리감만큼 단절된 관계가 아니라 하나의 연장선상에서 이어지는 ‘연속성’을 갖는다는 것을 밝히고자 하였다. 시 「VOGUE야」의 이면 깊은 곳에는 ‘관계’의 측면이 숨어 있다. ‘나’와 물질문명과의 관계, ‘나’와 ‘아들’과의 관계 그리고 이 양자의 관계 속에서 드러나는 분열된 ‘아이러니’의 관계가 그것이다. 김수영은 자신이 4.19를 통해서 깨달은 현실의 실태를 개인과 전체라는 관계로 표현하고자 했다. 현실과 이상의 측면에서 「VOGUE야」를 분석하였고, 이러한 ‘관계’의 양상을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편 ‘관계’의 측면에 집중하면서도 1930년대와 1950년대의 모더니즘 시기를 살았으며 1960년 당대의 김수영의 현실과 이상 사이의 괴리에 주목하였다. 시의 분석은 현실을 깨닫고 이상의 세계 또한 인정하는 모습을 ‘관계’의 논리로 해명하는 과정으로 해석하고자 하였다. 이때 ‘관계’의 연장선에 위치한 시인의 모습은 아버지에서 아들로 이어지는 ‘관계’의 모습으로 상정하였으며, 「사랑의 변주곡」을 통해서 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study was conducted with interest in the appearance of Kim Soo-young's perception changing after 4.19, and the aim of arguing the pattern in which his changed perception leads to his works 「VOGUE」 and 「Variations of Love」. To accomplish this, the focus was on Kim Soo-young's poems 「Grass」 and the poems 「VOGUE」 and 「Variations on Love」 published immediately before 「Grass」 approaching them through an analysis of their internal aspects. The reason why he focused on his poems 「VOGUE」 and 「Variations of Love」 is related to the status of Kim Soo-young's poem 「Grass」 in his entire poem. This stems from the significance attributed to the poem 「Grass」. The second is related to Kim Soo-young's intention to pay attention to one part of her heightened starting attitude. This is because the poem 「VOGUE」 and 「Variations of Love」 cannot penetrate the entire poem of Kim Soo-young, but at least it is easy to look at the bridge role to transition to 「Grass」, in other words, the aspect of Kim Soo-young's perception. This study, which focused on the aspect of 「relationship」, was interested in Kim Soo-young's changed perception after 4.19 and tried to argue that his changed perception leads to works 「VOGUE」 and 「Variations of Love」. Through this argument, this article attempted to reveal that the relationship between ‘me’ and ‘son’ is not as disconnected as the distance between ‘ideal’ and ‘real’ but has ‘continuity’ that continues as an extension. Deep within the poem 「VOGUE」, there lies the hidden aspect of ‘relationship’. It encompasses the relationship between ‘me’ and material civilization, the relationship between ‘me’ and ‘son’, and the divided relationship of irony that emerges within these two. Kim Soo-young intended to express the reality he realized through April 19 as a relationship between the individual and the whole. By analyzing 「VOGUE」 from the perspectives of reality and the ideal, the aspects of such ‘relationship’ were confirmed. Meanwhile, while focusing on the aspect of ‘relationship’, attention was also drawn to the discrepancy between Kim Soo-young's reality during the 1960s and the gap between the ideal during the Modernist era of the 1930s and 1950s. The analysis of the poem was interpreted as a process of explaining the recognition of reality and the acceptance of the ideal through the logic of ‘relationship’. In this context, the poet's appearance situated on the extension of ‘relationship’ was postulated as the appearance of the ‘relationship’ extending from father to son, and this was confirmed through 「Variations on Love」.
