우즈베키스탄 한국어 학습자의 단모음 발음에 대한 실험음성학적 연구

이 연구는 실험음성학적 방법론을 이용하여 우즈베키스탄 학습자의 한국어 단모음 발음 양상 및 특성을 살펴보고 발음 교육 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 우즈베키스탄 학습자를 대상으로 단모음 발화 및 단어 발화 실험을 진행하였으며 숙달도별로 다음과 같은 특성을 확인하였다. 단모음 발화 실험 결과 초급은 /ㅗ/와 /ㅡ/의 모음 공간이 다른 모음과 겹쳐 나타났지만 중급은 모든 단모음의 모음 공간이 독립적이었다. 단어 발화 실험에서는 초급과 중급 모두 모음 공간이 확장되었는데 초급은 모음의 공간이 겹쳐 나타나는 반면 중급은 /ㅗ/를 제외한 6개 모음의 모음 공간이 F2를 기준으로 조밀하게 축소되는 양상을 보였다. 우즈베키스탄 학습자들이 가장 어려워하는 모음은 /ㅗ/였는데 학습이 진행되어도 다른 모음처럼 조음 위치가 정확해지지 않았다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 우즈베키스탄 학습자를 위한 단모음 발음 교육은 크게 두 가지로 나누어 진행할 것을 제안한다. 먼저 발음 오류가 많고 발음 교정이 잘 이루어지지 않는 /ㅗ/는 F1 분포 범위를 줄이고 F2 평균값을 낮추는 방식으로 발음 교육을 해야 한다. 그리고 /ㅗ/를 제외한 /ㅣ, E, ㅡ, ㅜ, ㅓ, ㅏ/ 발음은 고모음과 중저모음으로 나누어 고모음 /ㅣ, ㅡ, ㅜ/는 F1은 낮추고 중저모음 / E, ㅓ, ㅏ/는 F1은 높이도록 지도해야 한다.
Abstract
This study aimed to provide primary data on pronunciation education by examining the pronunciation patterns and characteristics of Korean monophthongs of Uzbekistan learners using experimental phonetic methodologies. To this end, monophthong and word speech experiments were conducted on Uzbekistan learners, and the following characteristics were found by proficiency. In monophthong speech experiments, the space of vowels was independent except for /ㅡ/ and /ㅗ/ at the beginner level, and at the intermediate level, the space of vowels of all vowels was independent. In word speech, the space of all vowels was expanded, and for beginners, all vowel spaces overlapped. The vowel space was densely reduced at the intermediate level based on F2, but F1 still had a wide distribution range. Even when /ㅗ/ was pronounced at the intermediate level, both F1 and F2 showed errors, indicating that /ㅗ/ was the most difficult monophthong for Uzbekistan learners. Monophthong pronunciation education for Uzbekistan learners can be divided into two parts. The pronunciation training of /ㅗ/ should be conducted in a way that reduces the F1 distribution range and lowers the F2. In other words, training is needed in preventing the mouth from opening wide and in instructing the pronunciation at the back of /ㅜ/. In addition to /ㅗ/, in the case of high vowels, F1 should be lowered, and F1 of medium and low vowels should be modified in a higher, so the need to supplement mouth shapes in pronunciation education is suggested.
