전문대학에서의 특수 목적 한국어교육에 대한 고찰

본 연구는 전문대학에서의 한국어교육의 성격을 특수 목적 한국어교육이라는 틀 안에서 어떻게 정의할 수 있을 것인지 논의하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 전문대학은 고등 직업 교육 기관으로서 직업 전문성을 함양하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 한국 사회의 변화에 따라 한국 국내에서 직업인으로서 외국인에 대한 수요가 높아짐에 따라 한국의 전문대학 역시 외국인 인재의 교육이라는 역할을 담당하게 되었다. 이에 전문대학의 외국인 인재가 갖추어야 할 역량으로서 한국어교육 역시 한 부분을 차지하게 되었다. 그러나 전문대학에서의 한국어교육은 기존의 학문 목적 한국어교육과 직업 목적 한국어교육과는 다른 성격을 가지고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 한국의 사회적, 정책적 요구, 전문대학의 특성 등을 고려하여 학문 목적 한국어교육과 직업 목적 한국어교육이 결합된 형태의 ‘직업 전문 인재 육성’이라는 전문대학 고유의 특수 목적 한국어교육 체제를 제안하고, 이러한 체제에 따라 구체적으로 한국어교육이 어떠한 방식으로 실행될 수 있는지 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to discuss the nature of Korean language education in University Colleges, specifically focusing on how it can be defined within the framework of Korean for Specific Purposes. University Colleges aim to cultivate vocational expertise among their students. In response to the growing demand for foreign labor in Korean society due to societal shifts, University Colleges in Korea have also assumed the responsibility of educating foreign students. Consequently, Korean language education for foreign students in University Colleges has become a crucial aspect of the competencies these individuals need to possess. However, Korean language education in University Colleges differs in nature from Korean language education for academic purposes and Korean language education for occupational purposes. Therefore, considering the social and policy demands of Korea, as well as the characteristics of University Colleges, this study proposes a form of Korean language education for specific purposes in University College. This involves combining Korean language education for academic purposes and Korean language education for occupational purposes to meet the specific needs of University Colleges.
