이 연구에서는 농문화와 다문화에 대한 초등학교 교사의 인식을 알아보았다. 대상은 경상북도 농어촌에 소재한 10개교에 재직하는 초등학교 교사 264명이며, 이들을 두 집단으로 나누어 농문화와 다문화 설문지의 제시 순서를 달리 제시하였다. 이는 교사들의 농문화와 다문화에 대한 인식을 알아봄과 동시에 설문지의 제시 순서에 따라 교사들의 응답에 차이가 나타날 수 있는 순서 효과를 고려한 것이다. 사용된 농문화 설문지는 수화, 농사회, 농학교, 그리고 교육과정으로 각각 10문항씩 구성되어 있으며, 다문화 설문지는 모국어, 다문화사회, 그리고 다문화 교육과정으로 각각 10문항씩 구성하였다. 연구의 결과는 먼저, 설문지 제시 순서와 무관하게 모든 초등학교 교사는 다문화보다는 농문화에 긍정적 인식을 가지고 있었다. 또한 설문지 제시 순서에 따라서는 각각의 설문지에서 유의미한 변화가 나타났다. 즉, 질문지 제시 순서효과에서 대조효과의 형태를 보인다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 초등학교 교사는 농문화가 장애인 문화라고 하더라도 동족이라는 차원에서 수용하고 있으나, 다문화에 대해서는 타민족이라는 인지체제가 우선되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구에서는 초등학교 교사들의 고착된 고정관념과 배타적 인식의 위험에 대해 언급하며 교사들의 긍정적 인식 개선을 위한 방안을 제안하고 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the elementary school teachers' perception toward deaf culture and multiculture based on presentation order of the questionnaires. Two hundred sixty four teachers who are working at the elementary school at the ten rural areas were participated for this study. The deaf culture and multicultural questionnaires were consisted with 30 questions. The thirty questions of the deaf culture were separated into three parts; Sign Language, deaf community, and curriculum of the schools for the deaf. The thirty questions of the multiculture were separated into three parts; mother's language, multicultural community, and curriculum for the multicultural students. Each part contained ten questions. The results of this study were that regardless of the order of the questionnaire, the elementary school teachers indicated more positive attitudes toward deaf culture than those of the multiculture. And the perception toward deaf culture and multiculture changed according to presentation order of the questionnaires. Therefore this study concluded that the perception of the elementary school teachers toward deaf culture and multiculture was consisted with fixed idea.
