초등학교 ‘학교교과목’의 통합적 성격 탐색

본 연구는 단위학교 차원에서 개발한 ‘학교교과목’을 분석하여 그 성격을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 A초등학교의 학교교과목 실러버스, 학교교육과정, 학교교과목 연구물 2편을 분석하여 이 학교가 만든 학교교과목의 성격을 탐색하였다. 그 결과, A초등학교에서 개발한 학교교과목은 가치와 목표에 기반을 둔 연계적 통합, 내용의 점진적 위계화를 이루어 내는 수직적 통합, 성취기준을 도구로 사용하는 탈학문적 통합의 성격을 지니고 있음을 밝혔다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 첫째, 초등학교 3-6학년에서의 통합교육과정 개발을 공식화하는 제도적 장치가 필요하다는 점, 둘째, 학생의 삶과 경험을 연구할 수 있도록 도와주는 지원책이 필요하다는 점을 제언하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of 'school subjects' developed at the school level. To this end, we analyzed the syllabus of school subjects in A Elementary School, and looked at the related researches to see what kind of characteristics the school subjects have. As a result, the school curriculum developed by A Elementary School revealed that: 1) the nature of connective integration based on values and goals; 2) the nature of vertical integration to achieve gradual hierarchization of content through consultation between grades; 3) the nature of transdisciplinary integration, which uses achievement standards as a tool to start from life and experience. Based on the results of this study, first, it is suggested that an institutional system is needed to support the development of an integrated curriculum in the 3rd and 6th grades of elementary schools. Second, it is suggested that support measures are needed to help students study their lives and experiences.
