본 연구에서는 분야별 서비스 수입과 서비스 산업에서 발생되는 FDI유입이 상품수출에 미치는 영향에 대하여 실증 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과 운송서비스, 커뮤니케이션 서비스는 상품수출의 거래비용을 감소시켜 상품수출을 확대하는 것으로 나타났으며, 컴퓨터 및 정보서비스와 서비스 분야의 FDI는 제조업의 생산 효율성을 향상시켜 상품수출의 확대에 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 서비스 FDI와 기타 비즈니스 서비스는 대체성의 관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 1차 차분자료에 기초하여 이루어졌으므로 단기적인 영향만을 의미한다.
Abstract
This paper examines the effect of service import and FDI on manufacturing exports. There are several different types of research on service liberalization, however, it’s hard to find research paper on the direct relationship between service liberalization and manufacturing exports. This paper provides empirical research on the impact of service liberalization on manufacturing export for OECD countries during 1990-2006. I use the fixed effect regression model based on the first differenced data. I observed three things. First, when there’s an increase on transportation and communication service import the transaction cost for the manufacturing export decreases. Secondly, increasing imports of computer and information services have positive effect on manufacturing export. Finally, service FDI also has a positive impact on manufacturing export.
