기술 및 산업구조의 급격한 변화와 함께 플랫폼 노동 등 불안정 고용이 확대되고 있으며, 이와 함께 일자리의 질도 악화되고 있다. 이에 반해, 노동시간 단축과 비용 절감 등으로 노동자들의 일자리와 기업을 보호하였던 노동자협동조합이 양질의 일자리를 제공할 수 있는 대안으로 부각되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내 노동자협동조합들이 변화하는 노동조건에 대응하여 다양한 유형의 노동자협동조합을 조직･운영하고 있음을 확인하고 이들의 비즈니스모델을 분석하는 것이다. 특히 노동자협동조합일반 모델, 프리랜서플랫폼모델, 프리랜서지원서비스모델 등, 3가지 비즈니스모델로 유형화하여 각각의 사례를 찾아서 분석하였다. 이를 통해 노동 및 고용형태에 따라 노동자협동조합의 비즈니스모델이 달라질 수 있음을 확인하고 각각의 조직 특성과 사회적 역할을 토론했다. 본 연구의 결론으로, 노동자협동조합이 한국 사회의 일자리 문제를 해결하는 대안이 될 수 있음을 제시하였다.
Abstract
Since technological and industrial landscapes have swiftly changed, the number of precarious workers have increased and the quality of working conditions have worsened. In contrast, worker cooperatives have reduced working hours and the operating costs; for protecting both workers and enterprises, worker cooperatives are an alternative to providing decent working conditions. The research aims are to identify the various types of Korean worker cooperatives that respond to environmental challenges and to analyze the business models of worker cooperatives. Specifically, the three types of business models of Korea’s worker cooperatives are identified, namely, the general model, freelancer platform model, and freelancer supporting service model. Based on the case studies, it is found that worker cooperative business models have changed according to the employment relations. The study will discuss each model’s characteristics and social roles. In conclusion, it will be suggested that worker cooperatives could be a solution for sustainable and decent employment in Korea.
