정서 및 행동장애학생의 사회적 능력에 대한 검토

초록

사회적 기술(social skill)은 행동의 한 종류를 말하는데 그것은 정서 및 행동장애학생들에게 있어 아마도 가장 중요하고 기능적인 행동일 것이다. 1970년대부터 수행된 사회적 기술과 관련된 연구들을 검토해 보면, 동료 수용의 정의, 행동적 정의, 상호 관련적 능력 등의 3가지 정의로 요약될 수 있다. 사회적 기술 훈련 효과에 대한 여러 연구들에서 사회적 기술 훈련이 다양한 경증장애 집단(예를 들어, 정서 및 행동장애, 학습장애, 경증 지적장애)에 효과적이었음을 알 수 있다. 정서 및 행동장애학생에게 적합한 사회적 기술 훈련 적용을 위해 다음과 같은 4가지를 제안하였다. (ㄱ) 부족한 사회적 기술에 대한 사회적 기술 중재 적용하기, (ㄴ) 사회적 기술 훈련에 적합한 상황 확립하기, (ㄷ) 훈련된 사회적 기술의 기능적 일반화를 용이하게 하기, (ㄹ) 사회적으로 타당한 결과 측정법 적용하기.

Abstract

Social skills represent a class of behavior that is perhaps the most important and functional for children youth with emotional and behavior disorders. Three definitions were noted in the social skills literature of the 1970s: the peer acceptance definition, the behavioral definition, and the competence-correlates definition. Narrative reviews of the effects of social skills training showed that it was effective with a variety of mild disability groups (e.g., behavior disorders, learning disabilities, mild mental retardation). Four future directions were recommended for the enterprise of social skills training of children with emotional disturbances and behavioral disorders: (a) matching social skills interventions with students social skills deficits, (b) establishing the proper context for social skills training, (c) facilitating the functional generalization of trained social skills, and (d) using socially valid outcome measures.
