발달장애아동의 사회적 기술 중재 효과를 증진시키기 위한 방법론 검토

초록

사회에 적응하고 또한 성공적으로 기능을 하는데 있어 적절한 사회적 상호작용이 필요하다는 것은 분명한 사실이다. 학령기동안 발생하는 많은 발달상의 사건들과 변화하는 사회적 기대들로 인해 발달장애아동들에게 있어 적절한 사회적 상호작용을 형성하고 유지하는 작업은 특별히 도전적인 일이 될 수도 있다. 청소년들을 대상으로 한 사회적 기술 훈련에 대한 연구는 1970년대 중·후반에 시작되었고 해를 거듭하면서 많은 진보를 이루었다. 사회적 기술에 관련된 연구는 초기에 임상현장에서 기본적인 기술에 대한 사정과 습득에 초점을 맞추던 것에서 새로운 면에 초점을 맞추는 것으로 그 방향을 바꾸었는데, 그것은 실제적인 상황과 환경 속에서 효과적인 상호간 목록의 일반화와 유지를 사정하고 진척시키기 위해 고안된 기술들이다. 본 연구는 발달장애아동들의 사회적 기술 중재의 효과를 증진시키기 위한 사회적 기술 연구에서, 중재 순응도, 사회적 타당도, 중재의 일반화를 촉진시키려는 노력들을 포함하는 주요 문제들과 그 진전에 대해 논의되었다.

Abstract

Competent social interactions are clearly necessary for adjustment and successful functioning in society. Many developmental events and changing social expectations that occur during school age can make it particularly challenging for children with developmental disabilities to establish and maintain competent social interactions. Research on social skills training with adolescents began in the mid-to-late 1970’s and it has improved much over the years. This research has gradually moved from focus on basic skills assessment and acquisition in clinical settings toward techniques designed to assess and promote generalization and maintenance of an effective interpersonal repertoire in real world settings and situations. This study discusses major advances and issues in social skills research with developmental disabilities, including efforts to facilitate intervention adherence, social validity, and generalization of interventions.
