Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze variables influencing the teachers' sense of efficacy and instructional adaptations of general education teachers for students with disabilities in integrated classes of elementary schools. One hundred ninety five general education teachers at elementary schools who were teaching students with disabilities in integrated classes responded to the survey composed of three sections: background information, teacher efficacy, and instructional adaptations. Multiple regression and Pearson product correlation was implemented for data analyses. The study results were as follows: (1) Teaching experiences in integrated classes and frequencies of collaboration with special education teachers influenced teachers' sense of efficacy of teaching students with disabilities; (2) Teaching experiences in integrated classes influenced instructional adaptations for students with disabilities; and (3) teachers' sense of efficacy of teaching students with disabilities was positively correlated with instructional adaptations.
